Preview_Fitoor

Releasing on 12 Feb. The first promo I saw and was almost fallen for this. After many years experienced something so beautiful, charismatic, melodious, very subtle yet captivating all at once! I’m talking about the two breathtaking numbers here – 1) Yeh Fitoor Mera and 2) Pashmina.

Yeh Fitoor Mera should be watched for stunning expressions of Katrina, she has come a long way on the acting skills !!! And Pashmina is for the more stunning and gorgeous Katrina herself. Well she has performed the ballet so effortlessly, even if she is a trained dancer, it’s a treat to watch her. And off course Aditya has performed equally well, well almost..but doesn't beat Kat. Both of them look gorgeous with their sculpted physique. Just mesmerizing!

But, have I spoken about more important element of the set up – It’s Amit Trivedi and his very soulful, blissful slow numbers. Sounds as if he’s just continuing on the journey of 'Lootera', and coming out of ‘Manmarziyaan’ and getting into ‘Pashmina’… It’s like hearing a Western classical melody (or probably a Soft Jazz, R&B - Rhythem & Blues genre), using acoustic guitar, violin, and Piano / Keyboards, with light drums and flute etc. to get into the mood of the situation (else he delivers only with strings – Guitar and Violins mostly and a bit of piano)

I’d like to watch it for one more reason – It’s the director Abhishek Kapoor of the beloved ‘Kai Po Che’. What a movie it was!!! I’m banking on this to be one of the best movies of 2016, visually enthralling, treat to the ears, and obviously for Katrina and Aditya and their performances. So if you are wondering how to celebrate the Valentines Day...Here it’s – Book 2 tickets for the weekend of 12 Feb. Spoiler is it may contain a bit of violence on the backdrop of Kashmir and, oh yes if you are still not sold on the movie, plz consider this - It’s an adoption of Charles Dickens ‘Great Expectations’ (second novel after ‘David Copperfield’) and ‘literally’ based on the plot / genre ‘Coming-of-an-age’ (bildungsroman), which is one of the most successful and widely adopted novels of Dickens, globally.

Saala Khadoos:
Releasing on 29 Jan is Sports drama (Looks to be a fiction, as I'm not too sure if it's a biopic). The first impression is – Its as authentic and fresh presentation as the Queen (Kangana, Vikas Bahl), however there is no direct connect and genre is totally different, but the movie connects with you instantaneously, like the Queen.

This will be the most authentic Bollywood movie yet of this genre – I’d rather recall the other couple Academy award winning Hollywood flicks, 1) Million Dollar Baby (Client Eastwood, Hillary Swank) and 2) The Fighter (Mark Wahlberg and Christian Belle) and Khadoos Salaa could go really very close to these 2 in terms of the drama, emotions, rigorous efforts in becoming a winner sportsperson, the very strict, committed and passionate coach etc.

R.Madhavans will be remembered for this role forever, also looks to be very different character than his persona and physique, which obviously he has taken a lot of efforts to get into. The leading lady (Ritika) has seemingly performed equally well. Overall seems to be a must watch very authentic sports drams and will overpower Milkhas, Mary Koms and Chak De memories from our minds – At least from a movie experience standpoint. And the Bollywood debutant director Sudha Prasad to go and get a lot of accolades for this movie, even in international festivals. More later after the movie is released.
